Do You Wish You Had

More Time and Freedom to Pursue

Your Creativity, Spiritual Calling

and True Love?

Women are More Likely to Suffer from

Broken Heart Syndrome.

Complex Trauma is the Core Issue.

In my thirty-five plus years of working with women, men and couples, I’ve found that underneath every issue, whether in regards to relationship, career, addiction, abuse, weight issues, marital issues, depression, anxiety, grief, creative expression, parenting or health there is a common core thread: Complex TRAUMA.

Women, Work, Love, and Creative-Spiritual Longing.

To deal with the chaos of family, intimacy, work, and personal self-care is a life-long challenge. Today, one out of ten women are on anti-depressants. There is shame, guilt and fear around uncovering the trauma that holds women (and men) frozen in a fast paced, power/control and perfectionist world. This exacerbates unresolved trauma and holds you captive in patterns that are cyclic, repetitive and painful.

Fight, Flight and Freeze.

Trauma is a brain freeze. It stops you in your tracks in living life fully. It will tangle your guts and soul, make you hate your body, the sound of your voice and the feel of your skin. You run, attack or collapse in relationships as a result of unhealed emotional wounds. Subconsciously you hold to painful beliefs that keep you frozen to the past. The personal struggle to maintain creativity, intimacy and loving-kindness is difficult.

As a child, you were meant to be innocent, organic and to blossom.

You are born into families that sometimes hurt your heart rather than nourish your soul. You are taught patterns, beliefs and feelings that are the result of abuse, neglect and abandonment. You are taught, you should, you should, you should. You have to, have to, have to. Act appropriate, walk in a straight line, cross your legs, be polite, don’t make waves, and keep secrets. You minimize your sensitive nature, believe feelings are weak, emotions are immature, and you hide your deepest needs.

Vulnerability is a Strength,

Being Tough is a Defense.

You forget who you are and grow up afraid to be yourself. You choose relationships that limit you, careers that drain you, squelch your creativity, and develop health problems. You pretend ‘Everything is okay’, afraid to say, I am unhappy. Something went wrong. I am not being me. I am living someone else’s version of myself. I want to find my truth, my passion, the life I want to live as my own.

Commitment, passion and a hungry heart.

You need to be ready to let go of everything that makes you sick, tired and afraid. Joseph Campbell states: “In order to live the life you want, you have to give up the life you are living.” That takes commitment and a hunger to fully know love.

Healing is the Journey, Joy is the Road.

Transforming the pain of trauma to love takes a holistic, spiritual and creative approach to a life of radical self-love and self-care.  Traditional therapies focus on treating symptoms. This approach to treating symptoms such as migraine headaches, arthritis, anxiety, panic attacks, co-dependency, PTSD, addictions, chronic illness, and depression is to create better coping mechanisms. While coping mechanisms help the person feel better, coping is coping, and the person has to struggle to keep the coping mechanisms in place.

There is no fingerprint that matches yours.

It is not a perfect journey. And that is why the process of healing is human — You are intimately complex, intensely emotional-spiritual, creative, primal and expressive. UNIQUELY YOU!
